Our program
We are a Scout led Troop with over 80 Scouts on average each year, and over 100 Eagle Scouts. We have outings every month, including Summer Camp. We usually have at least 1 High Adventure program each year, such as Philmont and Sea Base.

Troop 428 Handbook
The Troop 428 Handbook contains a wealth of information about Troop 428’s structure, processes, and policies, along with expectations and opportunities for Scouts and families. All Scouts must agree to our Code of Conduct

Merit Badge Counselor Signup
Merit badge counselors are integral to the success of our program, and parent volunteers are needed! Please follow these instructions to sign up to be a merit badge counselor.

Youth Protection Training
In an ongoing effort to provide a safe environment for our Scouts, Troop 428 asks that all parents complete the BSA Youth Protection Training (YPT) online program.*
*You do not need to be a registered adult member to complete the training. All registered adult members and non-members participating in activities with the Troop, including driving to and from campouts, must complete YPT and renew their certification every two years.

Guidelines for
Grubmasters
Grubmasters are assigned by patrol. The grubmaster takes the lead on menu planning, shops for food within a provided budget, and coordinates patrol members to assist with cooking and cleanup during the campout. Information on allergies, dietary restrictions, and budget will be provided to the grubmasters by the Activities Coordinator via email prior to each campout. Reimbursement can be requested by submitting this form and emailing your receipts to the Troop Treasurer as instructed on the form.
Forms
BSA Required
All Scouts and registered adult leaders must have current Informed Consent and Health forms on file at all times. Parts A and B are always required, and Part C is required before participating in an activity that lasts longer than 72 hours. View all National BSA Forms
Scoutmaster Conferences
A scoutmaster conference form must be completed prior to the scoutmaster conference meeting for rank advancement. There are separate forms for each rank:
Service Hours Verification
The Service Hours form is to be used when a Scout wants to complete service hours outside of a Troop event or Eagle Project. The Scout must obtain approval BEFORE beginning his work. Print and complete the form and then have the Scoutmaster or an ASM sign off before volunteering.
Patrol Planning
Forms for planning troop programs and skill activities, planning campout menus and duty rosters, and tracking progress toward honor patrol are here:
Camping
Troop 428 goes camping one weekend per month year-round and attends a full week of summer camp each July.
